How to pay for AWSL Summer Programs - Learn all the ways you can pay for AWSL programs

Title Funds & Sending Students to Camp - (New for 2026) Federal Title and rural funds may help schools cover some costs for AWSL student leadership experiences when participation is connected to an identified need and an approved district plan. Possible programs include Fall Leadership Days, the Fall Conference, overnight team retreats, Be the Change Weekend, Mount Sky, Los Caminos, and AWSL summer leadership programs. Los Caminos is the redesigned and rebranded program formerly known as La Cima. Title IV-A is often the strongest place to begin, with Title I-A, Title III-A, Title VI Indian Education, Title II-A professional learning, and rural flexibility considered when the district's plan and student eligibility align. AWSL's new district conversation guide helps leadership teachers, activity advisors, principals, and assistant principals prepare the educational case, itemized budget, expected outcomes, and questions to take to district federal programs staff. District approval is required, and not every program or cost is automatically allowable.
