HEALTH AND WELLNESS PERSONNEL
The Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) is a division of the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) through its non-profit organization, the Washington School Principals' Education Foundation. Since 1956, AWSL has offered leadership education for all ages with proven programs, custom curriculum, and experiential opportunities that promote school-wide social and emotional growth.
The Association of Washington Student Leaders:
Trains and empowers students to lead.
Supports adults engaged in student success.
Provides resources for engagement and empowerment.
Promotes the value of students as leaders.
Over 3,000 students participate in one of the many summer programs the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) offers every summer. Each session allows students to learn, grow, connect, and develop leadership skills. Summer programs occur at the Cispus Learning Center, Eastern Washington University, and Central Washington University.
Job Description: Health and Wellness Personnel
Be the on-site health and wellness lead during a summer program session.
Visual, physical, and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the camp setting.
Review delegate and staff forms for special needs, accommodations, and medical needs.
Oversee and administer medication during the session.
Treat and assess low-risk injuries and ailments.
Treat and low-risk assess allergies, sprains, and anxiety/panic attacks.
Be able to facilitate covid testing (if need be).
Maintain daily journal and record of all treatments and medication.
Ability to observe and evaluate camper behavior; enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures; and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
Prepare the necessary reports, inventories, and records as assigned.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Experience working with individuals suffering from panic and anxiety attacks.
Experience working with teenagers.
Preference given to RNs, CMAs, CNAs, and EMTs.
Pay:
$400 stipend
Room, board, food and lodging paid for.
Travel Stipend (Up to $75 for single-driver/$125 for Carpool depending on distance).
