CheerLeadership Camp

Quality Stunt and Leadership Training Since 1963

Each summer, the Association of Washington Student Leaders and the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) pair up for CheerLeadership Camp at Central Washington University. CheerLeadership Camp is designed for public and private school cheer squads of all sizes. Regardless of size, our two staff work together to make the camp experience valuable, exciting and rewarding.

We are proud to partner with NCA:

SPIRIT IS FOREVER and it all started at NCA Summer Camp!

For 80 years, you have helped create NCA’s foundations of spirit, tradition, and excellence. From the first cheerleading camp to the first spirit stick, you have helped NCA cultivate a culture of positivity and cheer. Cheerleaders are an invaluable part of our community. Your season starts at CheerLeadership Summer Camp, where it all began and spirit is forever!

* Session I includes Mascot Training

Student participants in this conference will:

  • Experience individualized instruction from basic to elite based on their current skill set

  • Train in both stunt and dance workshops (with optional mascot training)

  • Learn leadership skills centered around five critical areas: communication, group process, managerial skills, self-awareness and human relations

  • Compete for all awards and trophies available through the National Cheerleaders Association plus additional leadership awards

Each session of camp also has a coaches' workshop. Twenty clock hours are available at an additional fee for attending the coaches' workshop along with W.I.A.A. stunt certification.

Mascot Training at Session I

Session I of CheerLeadership Camp includes an optional Mascot training curriculum. Mascots bring their costume and spend the week with a dedicated instructor who helps mascots develop their character. A strong mascot is a leader in creating school identity while motivating and energizing your crowd and community! Mascots attending with their squad will join their squad for teambuilding and leadership activities, while mascots attending on their own are “adopted” by another attending squad to be able to fully participate in all aspects of the camp curriculum.
