In our pursuit of positively transforming the social-emotional and leadership development of students in Washington, AWSL is looking for a Director of Student Learning to join our Washington-based team. (Several staff are currently working remotely throughout Washington state due to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
The Director of Student Learning works with the AWSL Team to develop relevant and meaningful curriculum and programs that support the P-16 education system. This role will design and deploy equitable and inclusive learning and development solutions in support of our goals and J.E.D.I. strategies. This position will support the expansion and implementation of AWSL curriculum, and programs.
AWSL Programs:
AWSL provides a variety of ways for students to develop their leadership and social-emotional skills. We offer content for elementary, middle-level and high school students in-person and online. We provide professional learning and curriculum for school building leaders (principals, teachers, paraprofessionals) to support buildings through the lens of the AWSP Leadership Framework.

About the Position
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Deputy Director of the Washington School Principals Education Foundation, AWSL Director of Student Programs, AWSL Office Manager, Cispus Learning Center Staff, AWSP Staff, and key external education partnerships
Support AWSL program expansion
Plan, design, develop, coordinate and facilitate AWSL curriculum and programs.
Support with AWSL digital assets (website, social media accounts, content creation)
Collaborate with team, stakeholders, and external consultants to design and implement learning opportunities to support AWSL's mission and goals
Qualifications:
Experience in curriculum development and facilitation
Experience as an educator (Certificated preferred)
Elementary experience preferred
Proven success in designing, developing, and deploying curriculum (in-person and virtually)
Experience building relationships at all levels of an organization
Experience with team building in a dynamic environment, as well as strategy, system thinking, design thinking, and competency models
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to facilitate and work with students and adults
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Strong project management, problem-solving, systems-thinking, organizational, and process skills
Ability to create an engaging and effective learning environment
Strong initiative as well as the ability to navigate an environment of rapid growth and change
Knowledge of social-emotional learning, and culturally relevant practices
Event-planning experience preferred
Working Environment
Preference would be based at Cispus Learning Center in Randle or at the AWSP office in Olympia
Possibilities for remote work environment with frequent computer use
Be willing and able to travel as our offices are in Randle, and Olympia WA
Applicant should be:

Versed in Word, Excel, PowerPoint or comparable
Flexible, collaborative, self-motivated and organized
Effective and timely communication skills
Comfortable presenting and facilitating in-person, and virtually
Able to work remotely
Conditions of Employment:
Criminal background clearance
First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire (?)
Valid WA State driver’s license and proof of insurance
Compensation / Benefits
Annual contract of 230 days (including summers): July 1-June 30, but start date is negotiable
Salary competitive with comparable positions that have similar responsibilities/experiences
Clarification: based on Washington state certificated teacher salary schedule
