AWSL Student Voice and Advocacy (SVA) Board
Student Voice at Heart of AWSL
The AWSL Student Voice and Advocacy Board is a team comprised of regional representatives from across the state and the two student members of the State Board of Education. This diverse group works to develop programs, train students and adults, enact leadership initiatives, advocate for ALL students and bring student voice to every aspect of AWSL.
The message matters and we need students.
Current 8th-11th grade students enrolled full-time in a public or private high schools in Washington are eligible to serve.These positions require articulate students who are able to listen, observe and provide input on issues regarding student voice and education in Washington.
As a member of the AWSL Student Voice and Advocacy (SVA) Board students participate in meetings and conferences, gathering student input on issues affecting today’s schools. Students selected to serve this one-year term will be allowed to reapply each year. They will be involved in developing programs that train students and adults on Leadership initiatives and activities.
