In cooperation with Lewis County Thrives, United Way of Lewis County, the Regional Alliance for Youth (RALLY), Timberland Regional Library, Lewis County Schools and other local businesses and non-profits, AWSL is hosting a three day Skills Retreat for all 8th grade students in rural Lewis County schools at the Cispus Learning Center. The retreat will focus on two of the Health Priorities from Lewis County's Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)
Lewis County Health Priority I: Improve economic and educational opportunities.
- Associated Goal 1: Improve educational and skill training opportunities.
- Associated Goal 2: Improve knowledge of employment and/or skill training opportunities within the public, commercial and educational sectors.
Lewis County Health Priority II: Improve access to and awareness of available health and social services.
- Associated Goal: Improve health and social service provider knowledge of opportunities and gaps in service.
The 2016-17 8th Grade Skills Retreat has been canceled due to lack of funding. We will be working hard at getting our funding stream lined up for the 2017-18 school year.
