AWSL Fall Leadership Conference
Energizing and equipping students and advisers for a successful year
Our first AWSL Fall Leadership Conference (formerly called the WASC Conference) was hosted in 1980 at Lindbergh High School in Renton. Since then, the three-day Fall Leadership Conference has grown to serve around a thousand students annually from across the state. Each year the conference is hosted by a different high school in the state. A highlight of the annual conference is the home stay program, where students from different schools are invited into the homes of the local community to network with each other and experience a slice of life in the host community. Small group workshops at the conference are taught by student leaders, and all schools attending are encouraged to share programs and practices that make their schools a better place to live and learn.
Student participants in this conference will:
- Gain skills and ideas to bring back to their school by attending small group workshops
- Listen to keynote speakers
- Interact with host families in the area
- Participate in the conference service project
The 2017 AWSL Fall Conference will be held October 13-15 at EisenhowerHigh School in Yakima, and is being hosted by Yakima area schools. Registration is open starting June 1.
